Research interests
- Development of smart sensing systems, nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring methodologies.
- Development of advanced characterization methods, quantification of damage and life prediction of engineering materials and structures in aerospace, energy, and civil infrastructure applications.
- Environmental attack of aging structures. Fatigue and fracture of materials. New material development and advanced techniques for characterization of damage in metallic alloys, coatings, composites, ceramics, nano-structured materials and coatings, functional and smart materials, bio-materials, cement-based materials, phononic metamaterials. 3D digital documentation and assessment of cultural heritage monuments. Safety of packaging materials.
