Research interests
The Composite and smart Materials Laboratory has attracted funding of approximately 3M €, almost in total (> 97%) from competitive research projects and private collaborations. More details are available at the lab web page.
- Experimental study of composite materials as well as study of their micromechanical and macromechanical behavior.
- Research in the field of composite and smart materials and structures, from their microscopic to macroscopic response to thermomechanical and / or environmental stresses.
- Development and characterization of smart and multifunctional composite materials with multiple functionalities simultaneously or not (eg thermoelectric properties, EMI shielding, self-healing, monitoring of structural integrity, etc.)
- Development of control and activation systems as well as technologies for their integration in advanced composite materials / constructions with the aim of optimizing the system: Construction - Response - Structural Integrity.
