The Ceramics & Composites Laboratory
(CCL) was established in 2001. Research pursued covers a variety of topics in
the areas of: (a) advanced and traditional ceramics (b) ceramic & polymeric membranes and porous
materials (c) clay materials, nanotubes, fibers and composites (d) glasses and biomaterials Research approach is interdisciplinary
and covers structural, chemistry and engineering aspects of materials. Work
is extended through various collaborations with national and international
research centers, other university departments and industrial partners. Several graduate students are currently pursuing
their PhD and MSc degrees, while more than 15 undergraduate students per year
complete their Diploma Theses. Finally, the same facilities host four
Laboratory courses of the Materials Science and Engineering Department
(University of Ioannina). |
